The former Belmont Hotel at 101 E. Mifflin Street at the intersection of Pinckney Street on the Capitol Square in Madison, Wisconsin, was constructed in 1924 in a Neo-Classical Beaux Arts style. An 11-story building virtually adjacent to the State Capitol, its erection prompted legislation to limit building heights in Madison, Wisconsin, in order to protect views of the Capitol.
